Man City will host Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium to undergo the first leg of the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League semifinal, Wednesday (27/04/2022) at 12:30 midnight Indian time.

Man City qualified for the semifinals after getting rid of city rivals Real Madrid, namely Atletico Madrid 1-0 on aggregate in the last quarter-finals. In the first leg, Man City appeared dominant and was able to win 1-0 over Atm through Kevin De Bruyne 's goal at the Etihad Stadium. Then in the second leg, The Citizens were able to hold Atm to a 0-0 draw at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

Man City itself is in very good form ahead of this match. In the last 2 matches, Man City has always managed to win. Pep Guardiola's men won 3-0 over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League last weekend and most recently won 5-1 over Watford in the Premier League last weekend.

While on the other hand, Madrid qualified for the semifinals after struggling to get rid of Chelsea 5-4 on aggregate in the quarter-finals. Madrid had stepped one foot into the semifinals after a landslide victory over Chelsea 3-1 in the first leg match which took place at Stamford Bridge through  Karim Benzema's hat trick. However, in the second leg which took place at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid was defeated by Chelsea with the same score, namely 1-3. Luckily, in extra time (extra time), Benzema was able to score 1 goal and lock Madrid's victory over Chelsea.

Madrid ahead of this match is also in very good condition. Madrid has always won their last 2 matches in La Liga. The team nicknamed  Los Blancos won 3-2 over Sevilla, then won 3-1 over Osasuna.

Man City and Madrid last met in the last 16 of the 2019/20 Champions League last season. At that time, Man City managed to get rid of the king of the Champions League with an aggregate score of 4-2.
