Manchester United has gone through pre-season from the pre-season tour in Asia to end in Europe. One defeat was won but the team slowly began to understand the playing system that the Dutch coach, Erik ten Hag, was trying to implement.

The test to put it into practice in competitive matches is in sight. Man United will host Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford, Sunday (07/08) at 6:30 p.m. Indian time in the first match of premier League2022-2023. Brighton was the opponent who humiliated Man United last season.

Brighton is still coached by Graham Potter and despite losing Marc Cucurella to Chelsea, they are still a dark horse to be reckoned with. Even BBC Sport football pundit Chris Sutton has a hard time predicting the outcome of the match.

"I just don't know what to expect from Manchester United. "Playing against United at Old Trafford on an opening day used to be a scary prospect, but not anymore," said Sutton.

"I love watching Brighton under Graham Potter and I think they're going to get something there."

The absence of Anthony Martial due to injury is in the spotlight because his performance is in good form after pre-season. Apart from Martial, the conditions of Jadon Sancho and Luke Shaw are also doubtful. Apart from them Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood are also absent.

From Brighton, only one player is absent, namely Jakub Moder. Apart from him, everything could feature, including former Man United striker Danny Welbeck.
